John E. Davies (President)

Davies is the founder of TRT and holds a professorship at the University of Toronto. He practiced as a surgeon before starting his research career. Davies' pioneering research gave rise to all the proprietary technology at TRT. He is an internationally recognized leader in bone biomaterials, and was the 2000 recipient of the prestigious Clemson Award for Basic Research for his seminal contributions to this field. He is a serial entrepreneur, and has developed multiple technologies in both the medical devices and stem cell arenas, from the novel thin film ceramic used as a platform technology for several bone cell experiments that flew on the STS 95 and other Space Shuttle missions, to OsteoScaf being commercialized through our wholly-owned subsidiary BoneTec Corp., and the human umbilical cord perivascular cell (HUCPVC) discoveries that formed the foundation of TRT.
